SymptomshMail-3.x. is recognized in Plesk but is indicated as not configured and cannot be selected as default mail server in Plesk
ResolutionThis problem is related to hMailServer v3.x.
When hMailServer is installed the respective configuration file (hMailServer.ini) is created. The file contains the following settings:
1. Paths are used by hMailServer.
2. Connection parameters to MySQL database server.
This file should be located within C:\Windows folder for hMailserver v3.x. But if Terminal Services service is running on the server then file hMailServer.ini is created in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Windows where Username is the name of the user that has installed hMailServer.
After that hMailServer service can't be started. This issue has been fixed since hMailServer v4.0 release. hMailServer.ini for hMailServer v4.0 is always located within its `bin` folder.
There are 2 ways to work around the issue with hMailServer v3.x:
1. Upgrade hMailServer to version 4.0 or greater.
2. Put hMailServer.ini from C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Windows into C:\Windows.
