Easiest way to find out the EID of the hardware node is to connect to XML API interface and find EID in the output:

~# curl 10.55.72.101:4433
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><packet xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" id="0" priority="0" version="4.0.0">
<origin>vzclient6-8525a05a-a126-a410-4fcc-e6d15a82634c</origin>
<target>agent</target>
<data>
<ok/>
<eid>8525a05a-a126-a410-4fcc-e6d15a82634c</eid>
</data>
</packet>

Using telnet:

C:\>telnet 10.55.72.101:4433
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><packet xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" id="0" priority="0" version="4.0.0">
<origin>vzclient6-8525a05a-a126-a410-4fcc-e6d15a82634c</origin>
<target>agent</target>
<data>
<ok/>
<eid>8525a05a-a126-a410-4fcc-e6d15a82634c</eid>
</data>
</packet>

telnet>q

The other way is to send XML API request to the node using call system->get_eid.

To do it you need to download attached script get-hn-eid.pl to a machine with Perl installed which can access the Parallels Virtuozzo Containers node in question.

You need to provide the script with hostname or IP address of the node in question, administrative user name and password.

On Linux:

[root@linux ~]# ./get-hn-eid.pl -name=Administrator -password=password -host=10.55.72.101
8525a05a-a126-a410-4fcc-e6d15a82634c
[root@linux ~]#

On Windows:

C:\Program Files\Active Perl\bin\>perl.exe "C:\get-hn-eid.pl" -name=Administrator -password=password -host=10.55.72.101
8525a05a-a126-a410-4fcc-e6d15a82634c

NOTE: The script uses connection to PVA Agent or VZAgent over the port 4433 and this port should be allowed in node firewall.
