Symptoms

Some commands do not work being executed via pctl exec (or via prlctl exec, or via pctl enter, or via prlctl enter):

1. Ping redirection:

# pctl exec VMNAME "ping IP_address > /file"
or
# pctl enter VMNAME
# Ping IP_address > /file

2. Ip redirection:

pctl exec VMNAME "ip a l > /file"
or
pctl enter VMNAME
                     ip a l > /file

Cause

The issue is most probably caused by enabled SElinux on the hardware node.

To verify that it is indeed enabled, run this command:

# getenforce
Disabled
#

If it does not return "Disabled" as above, follow to the Resolution section below.

Resolution

Our development team is working on a permanent solution.

Workaround:

Disable SELinux as described below:

1. Set SELinux to permissive mode by running:

# setenforce 0

2. Make sure that SELinux gets disabled after the next reboot.
For that edit the /etc/selinux/config
file by changing this line:

SELINUX=<ANY_STATE>
to:
SELINUX=disabled

3. If the above actions do not fix the issue, reboot the system.
