VM on Parallels Server 5 Bare Metal cannot get a valid IP address after reverting to a snapshot made in Parallels Server 4 Bare Metal or any other old product (Parallels Desktop 5 or earlier, Parallels Server for Mac, etc.).
Both bridged and host-only network adapters cannot get an IP address.

A special parameter called “Virtual Network ID” was absent from snapshots made in PSBM4 and other old products. So it is not set after reverting a VM to a snapshot made in one of those products.

To solve the issue please manually reconnect your virtual machine to a valid virtual network:

1. In Parallels Management Console shut down the VM and go open its configuration;

2. Go to Hardware tab -> and choose Network 1 device;

3. Select one of available network connection types (Routed/Bridged/Host-Only).
