You copied a VM from another Parallels product (Parallels Server 4 Bare Metal, Parallels Desktop 5 or earlier, Parallels Server for Mac, etc.) to Parallels Server 5 Bare Metal. It was using Shared networking before having been copied, but now it cannot connect to network.

Shared networking is not supported anymore.

In fact such situation is quite rare, because in such cases Parallels Server automatically tries to switch the VM to a Host-Only networking mode. However, if an issue occurs during that switching you may need to solve it as described below.

Please manually reconnect your virtual machine to a valid virtual network:

1. In Parallels Management Console shut down the VM and go open its configuration;

2. Go to Hardware tab -> and choose the network device that fails to connect (usually Network 1);

3. Select one of available network connection types (Routed/Bridged/Host-Only).
