After upgrading Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows 2003 to version 4.6, the containers do not start, and the following error appears:
Error 0x1 while executing script "on_vps_startup.cmd CTID"


This issue is caused by two OS template cache files in the VZ_FOLDER\Templates\__cache, e.g. w2k3 and w2k3r2.


  1. Find out which OS template is used by containers using the following command:
    C:\>vzlist -a -o veid,templates
  2. Stop all containers.
  3. Un-deploy OS templates using the vzpkgdeploy -u templatename command.
  4. Re-deploy OS templates using this article:
