Symptoms

You may fail to upgrade Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 3.5.1 for Windows to 4.6 if your Container backups are stored on a network drive.

Workaround

The issue will be fixed in one of the future versions.

To work it around:
1. Set the value of the key entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SWsoft\Virtuozzo\Backup\BackupFolder to X:\vz\backup (make sure the X:\vz\backup folder exists on the server).
2. Upgrade your system to 4.6.
3. Once the upgrade is complete, reset the key entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SWsoft\Virtuozzo\Backup\BackupFolder to its original value.
