How to switch from Apache server distributed with Plesk to vendor's Apache server?

Follow this instruction to configure Plesk to work with a custom Apache web server.

  1. Remove Apache supplied with Plesk:

    # rpm -e  mod_ssl httpd apache-sni-configurator --nodeps
  2. Open file /etc/psa/psa.conf in any editor and set option SNI_SUPPORT to false

  3. Remove all data from psa.BackendCache table in the psa database:

    # MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin psa -e 'delete from BackendCache'`
  4. Install a custom Apache server with mod_ssl module using, for example, yum package manager:

    # yum install httpd mod_ssl`

WARNING! In order to avoid any malfunctioning it is strongly recommended to use Apache web server shipped with Plesk and not a custom one.
