To avoid possible Parallels Plesk Panel upgrade problems, it is necessary to check the status of the local MySQL server.

1. Make sure that local MySQL server is running:
# /etc/init.d/mysqld status
mysqld (pid 7606) is running...

2. Make sure that you can connect to local MySQL server from host to port 3306 with username 'admin' and password from /etc/psa/.psa.shadow:
mysql -uadmin -h127.0.0.1 -P3306 -p`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` -Dpsa -e 'show tables'
