Symptoms

While trying to upload a large file using Fileserver module, the process breaks after some time. The file is not getting uploaded. The following error is logged: /var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log :
2011-09-08 17:49:23: (connections.c.1138) denying upload as writing to file failed: /var/tmp/lighttpd-upload-BwV7Uk Resource temporarily unavailable

Cause

During transmission, the already uploaded part of the file is stored in the /var/tmp directory. The disk partition where this directory is located does not have enough space to store the whole file.

Resolution

1. Confirm the amount of the space available in the /var/tmp directory.
# df -h /var/tmp
Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1             110G   109G  1G   1% /

2. Consider extending the partition where /var/tmp directory is located or clean up that partition.
