There is no issue with the installing of an application to a site root directory (httpdocs folder of a domain). You can specify the symbol '/' as a Destination Directory value. In this case, the application will be installed directly in the httpdocs folder of the domain.

It is not possible to remove this application. Plesk has no information about files/folders which belong to this application. There are other files and folders in the domain root directory which do not relate to the installed application. And Plesk does recognize the proper way to remove it.

To safely remove the APS application from the root directory, you may want to take the steps below:
1 Backup original files before applying the hotfix
2 Replace the corresponding files with the patched ones from the attachment
* two files in the admin/bin
* three files in the admin/plib/SiteApps
Please pay attention that, by default, the root virtual directory has 'index.html' as the first item in the list of Default Documents, and the default skeleton has the file 'index.html.'

Through a request to http://your.domain, you get the same page even if the application is installed. To solve this issue, you need to change the Default Document order on the root Virtual Directory (<domain> -> Virtual Directories -> Directory Settings) or modify default domains skeleton (Domains -> Virtual Host Template) and remove the index.html from there.
The removal of such applications does not delete Application scripts and content. It removes associated DB. Thus, it will not work after removal, but disk space stays occupied.
