  • Applies to:
  • Plesk 10.x for Windows
  • Plesk 9.x for Windows
  • Plesk 8.x for Windows

Step 1. Login to the source server (Parallels Plesk Panel 8.x) and run pleskbackup utility to create an archive with data to be migrated:
Migrate all data and settings:
"%plesk_bin%"\pleskbackup --all --dump-file=<dump_path>

Migrate a client:
"%plesk_bin%"\pleskbackup --client CLIENT.LOGIN --dump-file=<dump_path>

If multiple clients are to be migrated:
"%plesk_bin%"\pleskbackup --clients CLIENT.LOGIN1, CLIENT.LOGIN2, ... --dump-file=<dump_path>

Migrate a domain:
"%plesk_bin%"\pleskbackup --domain DOMAIN.NAME --dump-file=<dump_path>

If multiple domains are to be migrated:
"%plesk_bin%"\pleskbackup --domains DOMAIN.NAME1, DOMAIN.NAME2, ... --dump-file=<dump_path>

Step 2. Copy the archive to the destination server and convert it to the Plesk 9.x format using the pre9-backup-convert utility:
"%plesk_bin%"\pre9-backup-convert --source=<path to source dump> --destination=<path to destination directory>

Step 3. On the destination server use Plesk Migration Manager at Home > Server Tools > Migration Manager. Start new migration. Choose Transfer data already processed by the migration agent and located on the local host option as the data source for migration as shown below:

In the Migration data location field above, specify the absolute path to the directory on the destination server, which contains the resulting data processed in the previous step by the pre9-backup-convert utility.
