Unable to synchronize time in container while running Meinberg NTP server. The similar error is observed in Event Viewer Application log:
Log Name: Application Source: NTP Date: 11/15/2011 8:52:48 PM Event ID: 1 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: CT101 Description: Can't adjust time: A required privilege is not held by the client.
The cause is that by default "NT Authority\Local System" account is deprived from seSystemtimePrivilege privilege.
Clear DeniedPrivileges property for the container.
Check that there is only one privilege denied at the moment:
C:\> vzcfgt get CTID DeniedPrivileges SeSystemtimePrivilege
If it's so, delete it:
vzcfgt delete CTID DeniedPrivileges
If there are more that one privileges, leave all, except "SeSystemtimePrivilege":
C:\> vzcfgt get CTID DeniedPrivileges SeSystemtimePrivilege;SeUndockPrivilege C:\> vzcfgt set CTID DeniedPrivileges SeUndockPrivilege
Restart NTP service inside the container:
vzctl enter CTID net stop ntp net start ntp
