Resolution

It is possible to view, set, or change the default backup folder using the vzabackup tool.

NOTE: On Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows, the vzbackup tool is another wrapper for the backup back-end and is kept for the sake of backwards compatibility. In the future, the tool will become obsolete, so it is recommended to use vzabackup instead.

To see the current default backup location:

vzabackup --view-folder localhost

Example:

C:\Users\Administrator>vzabackup --view-folder localhost
 path = C:\vz\backups
 login =

To set or change the default folder location to another place:

vzabackup --set-folder --backup-folder-path %PATH% --backup-folder-login "USERNAME" --backup-folder-passwd "PASSWORD" localhost

Example:

C:\Users\Administrator>vzabackup --set-folder --backup-folder-path "\\SBMSERVER\backups" --backup-folder-login "Administrator" --backup-folder-passwd "MyPa$$WorD" localhost

C:\Users\Administrator>vzabackup --view-folder localhost
  path = \\SBMSERVER\backups
  login = Administrator

NOTE: The --storage option is also available, which sets the backup storage location for the current backup operation; however, it requires PVA Agent to be installed on the storage server, whereas --set-folder changes the location for all backup/restore operations and does not require PVA Agent software to be installed on the storage host.
