Current version of PVA does not have the feature of operational log rotation, so PVA Agent SQLite database performance degrades as it grows.

It will be permanently fixed in the future versions of PVA.

Automated solution

For installations of PVA Agent on Windows 2003 servers, please follow manual instructions below.

Download the appropriate script to the server, run it as administrator:

  • Windows:

    C:> pva_oplog_clean.cmd
  • Linux:

    [root@hwnode ~]# bash

Steps to clean records manually

Clean up Operational log table in PVA Agent database:

  1. Stop PVA Agent:

    • On Windows:

      net stop pvaagent
    • On Linux\Bare Metal:

      pvaagent stop
  2. Find and backup the VZAgentDB.sqldb database file:

    • On Windows:

      copy C:\vz\PVA\Agent\Data\etc\VZAgentDB.sqldb VZAgentDB.sqldb.backup
    • On Linux\Bare Metal:

      cp /vz/pva/agent/etc/VZAgentDB.sqldb{,.backup}

NOTE: The location may be different, it also can be placed in /var/opt/pva/agent/etc/VZAgentDB.sqldb

  3. Delete records from the op_log_data table:

    • On Windows:

      "C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Virtual Automation\Agent\bin\sqlite3exe.exe" "C:\vz\PVA\Agent\Data\etc\VZAgentDB.sqldb" "delete from op_log_data where time < '2012-07-09 00:00:00'"
    • On Linux\Bare Metal:

      sqlite3 /vz/pva/agent/etc/VZAgentDB.sqldb "delete from op_log_data where time < '2012-07-09 00:00:00'"

NOTE: The highlighted part in SQL statement shows up to which date we are cleaning log data.

  4. Start PVA Agent:

    • On Windows:

      net start pvaagent
    • On Linux\Bare Metal:

      pvaagent start
