Backup restoration is too slow, taking a very long time. In particular, IMAP Mail content restoration is the most time-consuming sub-task.

This issue occurs during migrations as well.

Solution for Plesk 11.x

This issue has been fixed in Plesk 11 MU#37. You should update your Plesk to this version of microupdate at least and set the SmartRestore parameter value to false in file "%plesk_bin%\BackupUtils\PSAMailRestore.exe.config"

Workaround for Plesk 9.x and 10.x

You may switch the restoration utility to using a native provider.

Warning: Before Plesk 11.0.9 MU#37 a native mail provider will restore the mail content, but the following messages' flags will be lost:

           Message has been read
           Message has been answered
Message is "flagged" for urgent/special attention
Message is "deleted" for later removal by EXPUNGE
Message has incomplete composition (marked as a draft)

If you still want to proceed with the partial restoration, open this file:

and set the SmartRestore parameter value to false.

If the old restoration process is still running, stop it, remove the already-restored content, and re-run the restore procedure. It should finish much faster now.
