SymptomsTrying to restore a MySQL backup to a newly created database:
Domains -> domain.com -> Backup Manager -> Database Backup Repository -> Upload Backup File -> select the "Restore database backup immediately upon uploading" checkbox -> OK
I get the following error:
Error: dbbackup failed: Unable to restore database 'testdb'
ERROR 1064 (42000) at line 1: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check
the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right
syntax to use near 'PK' at line 1
CauseSuch error may occur if you are trying to restore a ZIP file instead of a valid MySQL dump.
ResolutionOpen the file you are trying to upload with notepad or other simple text editor and check if its contents are readable and resemble MySQL queries. If they are not, it means you either need to unpack the file first or find a different backup to restore.
We will soon adjust our documentation to make explicit references that database dumps are to be uploaded only in plain text.
