1. ABOUT THIS RELEASE

The current update for the Parallels Server Bare Metal 5.0 kernel provides
a new kernel based on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 kernel
(2.6.32-279.14.1.el6). The updated kernel includes a number of performance
and stability fixes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. UPDATES DESCRIPTION

This update contains the following fixes:

* A lot of improvements in how the kernel manages per-Container caches were
introduced. This resulted in a stronger isolation between Containers
and in a better performance on typical workloads. (PSBM-15796)

In particular, IO-active workloads on a Node (e.g., vzbackup, vzcache,
vzmigrate, etc.) no longer heavily affect the Containers running on this
  Node.

* The virtual Swap functionality no longer requires a real swap on the Node. (PSBM-16764)

* Restoring a Container no longer causes a kernel panic if a dead task gets
into the checkpointing dump for some reason. (PSBM-17107)

* A long-standing bug in the "pty" layer that could be triggered by
a too-low "dcache" limit value has been fixed. (OVZ 1758)
