Symptoms

I'm installing Parallels Web Presence Builder Standalone 11 using instructions from chapter "Installation Steps" of "Integrating Parallels Web Presence Builder Standalone with cPanel".

Script wpb_cpanel.run fails with an error:

[~]# ./wpb_cpanel.run
Creating directory wpbPackage
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Web Presence Builder for cPanel.............................
Installing the Web Presence Builder plugin for cPanel...
./webpresencebuilder.sh: line 65: syntax error near unexpected token `>'
./webpresencebuilder.sh: line 65: `${CPANEL_BIN_DIR}/register_cpanelplugin ${CPANEL_BIN_DIR}/webpresencebuilder.cpanelplugin &>> webpresencebuilder.log'

How to resolve this?

Cause

The error is caused by system shell, which does not support the redirection that is used in script.
For example the error may appear with this shell version:

~# /bin/sh --version
GNU bash, version 4.1.2(1)-release (x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu)
Copyright (C) 2009 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
License GPLv3+: GNU GPL version 3 or later <http://gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html

Resolution

You may use the following steps to resolve the issue and complete installation:

1. Create a temporary directory /root/wpbPackage/, and change to the directory

2. From this directory run the installer with the following options:

[~/wpbPackage]# /root/wpb_cpanel.run --target /root/wpbPackage/ --noexec
Creating directory /root/wpbPackage/
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Web Presence Builder for cPanel.............................

3. Open script webpresencebuilder.sh which is located in the same directory and find this line:

/root/wpbPackage/webpresencebuilder.sh
--->8---
`${CPANEL_BIN_DIR}/register_cpanelplugin ${CPANEL_BIN_DIR}/webpresencebuilder.cpanelplugin &>> webpresencebuilder.log'
---8<---

Remove the "and sign" (&) so the line looks like the following:

/root/wpbPackage/webpresencebuilder.sh
--->8---
`${CPANEL_BIN_DIR}/register_cpanelplugin ${CPANEL_BIN_DIR}/webpresencebuilder.cpanelplugin >> webpresencebuilder.log'
---8<---

Save the file.

4. Execute script webpresencebuilder.sh to complete installation:

[~/wpbPackage]# ./webpresencebuilder.sh
