A transfer/migration is interrupted with the "MySQL server gone away" error message.

The default value of the MySQL global variable "wait_timeout" on the Source or/and Destination server may not be high enough, causing an interruption of the transfer/migration process.

During the migration/transfer period, increase "wait_timeout" to the available maximum supported by your version of MySQL server on the Source and Destination servers.
For Linux:
wait_timeout = 31536000
For Windows:
wait_timeout = 2147483
