Can I install Plesk inside a virtual machine / container?

Yes. Plesk has been tested to work with the following virtualization platforms:

  • Virtuozzo 6
  • Virtuozzo Containers 4.6 for Linux
  • Virtuozzo Containers 4.7 for Linux
  • OpenVZ
  • VMware
  • Xen
  • KVM
  • Hyper-V

However, installation and operation of Plesk inside virtual environment of other vendor's platform should not be a problem as long as system requirements for Plesk 12 for Linux and for Windows are met.

Can I install Plesk in the cloud?

Plesk supports deployment on Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure since Plesk 11. Furthermore, Odin provides up-to-date Amazon EC2 AMIs (Amazon Machine Images) based on latest releases of Plesk for Linux and Windows.
