  • Applies to:
  • Plesk 11.x for Linux
  • Plesk 10.x for Linux

Symptoms of the problem may include the following:

  • Statistics for domains are not updated
  • Log files are not rotated
  • Plesk Micro-Updates are not installed
  • Plesk license is not updated automatically

This problem may be caused by anacron being installed but disabled on the server. In this case, the standard cron daemon would not execute daily/weekly/montly tasks relying on anacron.

Check for the presence of files /etc/anacrontab and /etc/cron.hourly/0anacron. If both are present and /etc/cron.hourly/0anacron does not have executable permissions, this article's resolution applies to your situation.

The problem has been fixed in Parallels Plesk Panel 11.0.9 MU #28.

To apply the fix on earlier versions, perform the following permission reset on cron configuration files:

chmod 0755 /etc/cron.d
chmod 0644 /etc/cron.d/0hourly
chmod 0644 /etc/cron.d/dailyjobs
chmod 0755 /etc/cron.hourly/0anacron
chmod 0644 /etc/cron.d/plesk-backup-manager
chmod 0644 /etc/cron.d/billing-task-manager
chmod 0644 /etc/cron.d/drweb-update
chmod 0644 /etc/cron.d/mailman
chmod 0755 /etc/cron.daily/60sa-update
chmod 0755 /etc/cron.daily/50plesk-daily
chmod 0755 /etc/cron.daily/drweb-update
chmod 0755 /etc/cron.weekly/50plesk-weekly
chmod 0755 /etc/cron.hourly/ctoblogs
chmod 0755 /etc/cron.hourly/plesk-php-cleanuper
chmod 0755 /etc/cron.monthly/50plesk-monthly
