Symptoms

Files exported from phpMyAdmin may contain error messages if exported data order was changed:

-- Error reading data: (#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE (t1.id = 1) OR (t1.id = 2) ORDER BY t1.id ASC' at line 2)

Cause

The problem is caused by bug #3797 in phpMyAdmin which results in wrong syntax for export SQL statement.

Workaround

Apply patch, attached to the article using following steps:

  1. Change directory to /usr/local/psa/admin/htdocs/domains/databases/phpMyAdmin

  2. Download attached patch:

    wget http://kb.sp.parallels.com/Attachments/24364/Attachments/tbl_export.patch

  3. Apply patch:

    patch -b -p0 < tbl_export.patch
