A customer cannot publish their Web Presence Builder (WPB) site after they changed the password of the default FTP user created for the webspace where the website is hosted.
Publishing fails with the following error message:
Cannot publish to the specified host via ftp. Authorization failed.
The site can not be published to the specified location. Can not find site files at http://domain.tld/. The specified site URL does not match the ftp settings.
The site cannot be published to the specified location. Cannot publish to the specified host via ftp. Authorization failed
The version of the WPB currently installed is 11.1.
Web Presence Builder 11.1 incorrectly processes changing the password of the FTP user which is used to publish the site. The password is updated in the FTP server configuration file, but not updated in the WPB database.
The Publishing Website was not resolved to the proper IP from the WPB central instance server
This problem was fixed in Web Presence Builder 11.5. Consider upgrading WPB to version 11.5 or above.
Also, make sure that the website's DNS record points to the correct IP address.
For Operations Automation (OA):
Consider upgrading both Presence Builder for OSA (the Centralized Instance) and Presence Builder (the WPB Connector) APS applications to 11.5 or later. After the new versions of APS applications are imported in OA, upgrade the instances installed in customers' subscriptions to the latest available version.
Finally, after customer APS application instances are upgraded to WPB 11.5 or later, ask the customer who could not publish their site to change the FTP user password again in the OA Customer Control Panel. This should force the password to be updated correctly in the WPB database.
If upgrading is not possible, ask the customer to change the FTP user password back to the previous value (which was set when the customer created the WPB site).
