On occasion, a customer performs manual changes on a domain in IIS, or deletes it. As a result, the domain does not work. How can you reconfigure the domain to the default Plesk settings or restore it in IIS?

  1. If the domain exists in IIS, create a backup of the domain configuration with this command:

    %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd list site / /config /xml > c:\temp\domain_conf.xml
  2. Execute the following command in the command line to restore domain settings:

    "%plesk_cli%\repair.exe" --reconfigure-web-site -web-site-name

If the domain is absent or was deleted in IIS, this command will recreate the domain with all Plesk hosting settings, bindings and physical path.
