SmarterMail was installed on a Parallels Plesk server, but it has a "not configured" status in Plesk. After setting up a correct login and password for SmarterMail, the following message is displayed:
Some fields are empty or contain an improper value.
SmarterMail is not configured.
First, make sure that SmarterMail was properly detected by Plesk. To force detection, go to Plesk, Server, Component Management, and click the Refresh button to let Plesk run its internal utility to detect/re-detect SmarterMail (or any other component). After that, go to the Mail Server link from the list of components on this page and choose SmarterMail as the default Mail server.
If the problem persists, please try the following solution:
The SmarterMail service is configured through Web Server. The following Web servers can be used for the SmarterMail Web service:
SmarterMail Web Service – the native Web server shipped with the Mail Server. Microsoft Internet Information Services.
Try to switch SmarterMail to an IIS website according to instructions above. For Binding, make sure that you set the SmarterMail port to 9998 and binding for all IP addresses.
Make sure that the SmarterMail Service service is running when you use SmarterMail as a website in IIS.
- Before integrating SmarterMail with Plesk, make sure that SmarterMail works and you can login to Smartermail without any issues.
Note: SmarterMail is not shipped with Plesk and should be downloaded from the vendor's website and installed separately.
