I cannot shutdown virtual machine: it experiences soft lockup and hangs. In console log the following entries can be seen:
PID: 2100 TASK: ffff880037adf500 CPU: 2 COMMAND: "killall5" #0 [ffff88003c91bb98] schedule at ffffffff8150e0e2 #1 [ffff88003c91bba0] thread_return at ffffffff8150e130 #2 [ffff88003c91bc60] schedule_timeout at ffffffff8150ef2a #3 [ffff88003c91bd10] audit_log_start at ffffffff810d438b #4 [ffff88003c91bdd0] audit_log_exit at ffffffff810db96c #5 [ffff88003c91bf40] __audit_syscall_exit at ffffffff810dc6a8 #6 [ffff88003c91bf80] sysret_audit at ffffffff8100b1a5
There is a bug in linux kernel since
2.6.32-358.18.1.el6 that was ported to Red Hat: 1005866 so it is also presented in all RHEL derivatives as CloudLinux, CentOS and Parallels Cloud Server also.
The workaround is to reset the virtual machine.
