Symptoms

After the installation of Parallels Cloud Server 6.0 Update 4, the allocatable space value has decreased. Example :

  • Previous value :

    [root@host ~]# pstorage -c pcs1 stat | egrep 'Space:|FS:|Replication:'
    Space: [OK] allocatable 2TB of 2.5TB, free 4.5TB of 5.0TB
    Replication:  2 norm,  2 limit
    FS: 500GB in 5276 files, 5275 inodes, 2667 file maps, 35982 chunks, 71964 chunk replicas

  • Current value :

    [root@host ~]# pstorage -c pcs1 stat | egrep 'Space:|FS:|Replication:'
    Space: [OK] allocatable 1TB of 2.5TB, free 4.5TB of 5.0TB
    Replication:  2 norm,  2 limit
    FS: 500GB in 5276 files, 5275 inodes, 2667 file maps, 35982 chunks, 71964 chunk replicas

Cause

Since Update 4, the allocatable space is calculated as the minimum between the total free space in the cluster and the license capacity. Previously, the license capacity was not accounted.

[root@host ~]# pstorage -c pcs1 view-license | grep capacity
        capacity=1000

In the above example, the capacity, limited by license (1TB) is less than the factual amount of free space in the cluster (2TB).
