Symptoms

A container cannot be started or mounted with the following error:

C:\>vzctl mount 24820
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers API function call 'VZVolumeMountExW' failed (C:\vz\Private\24820\root.efd, {be011ab5-4f4f-4571-ae87-5a555a4f237b}) err = 1359
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers API function call 'dq_mount' failed
Cannot set disk quota for container 24820

Cause

The image file of the container (root.efd) is corrupted.

Resolution

  1. Try to perform a file system check of the image.
  2. If the check does not help, but the image can be mounted with vzdskctl, contact Parallels Support for further assistance.
  3. If the image cannot be mounted with vzdskctl, the only solution is to restore the container from a backup.
