Is it safe to run the Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services packages with Parallels Virtuozzo Containers?

Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services (MATS) portal providing a lots of different Support Diagnostic Packages (SDP).

According to MS Knowledge Base some of these packages may change the configuration of the computer, also MATS can install run-time packages, such as PowerShell, in order to run diagnostic packages. Therefore it is not recommended to run such diagnostic packages on Windows 2003/2008 Server which are not shipped with PowerShell, for more details please refer to the following article:

113104 Is it safe to install PowerShell on Hardware Node?

It is recommended to determine what changes to the system are brought by a specific diagnostic package you are about to run. Please consult with Parallels Technical Support if you have questions regarding compatibility with a certain package.

If the SDP only collects reports from the system, then it is safe to run this package on both node and container, but only if it is Windows Server 2008 R2.
