The VNC and SSH console Java applets do not load in Power Panel, if the latter is accessed by the hostname of the container. The following error is shown:

  • for SSH console

    ClassNotFoundException: de.mud.jta.Applet
  • for VNC console

    ClassNotFoundException: com.tightvnc.vncviewer.VncViewer

If Power Panel is accessed by the container's IP address, the error does not appear.

An SSL handshake alert occurs if the referenced hostname does not match the value of the variable "ServerName" specified in the Apache configuration file.

Oracle Java bug reference:

Java Runtime Environment versions 7 and 8 are affected by the problem.

To bypass the bug in Oracle Java realization, the internal request PVA-33823 has been created.

The fix is expected in one of the future PVA updates.

The only workaround for now is to access Power Panel by the container's IP address.
