Question

How can I install only Virtuozzo related updates via yum?

Answer

Virtuozzo allows users to install updates via yum utility. During installation separate repositories are configured to provide Virtuozzo-related software:

[root@vz ~]# yum repolist | grep parallels
parallels-cloud-server Parallels Cloud Server Base 2,896
parallels-cloud-server-updates Parallels Cloud Server Updates 32
[root@vz ~]#

You may install only Virtuozzo-related updates without installing Cloudlinux system updates by explicitly enabling only above-mentioned two repositories:

[root@vz ~]# yum update --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=parallels-cloud-server{,-updates}

Note: Starting from Virtuozzo 6 Update 11, VzLinux replaces CloudLinux as base distribution:

[root@vz ~]# yum repolist | grep virtuozzo
virtuozzo                     Virtuozzo Base                              10,532
virtuozzo-updates             Virtuozzo Updates                                9
virtuozzolinux-base           VirtuozzoLinux-6 - Base                    7,251+1
virtuozzolinux-updates        VirtuozzoLinux-6 - Updates                      61

To install only Virtuozzo-related updates:

[root@vz ~]# yum update --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=virtuozzo{,-updates}
