  • Applies to:
  • Virtuozzo
  • Virtuozzo containers for Linux
  • Virtuozzo hypervisor
  • Virtual Automation

Symptoms

Container #1 has run out of disk space and Power Panel is no longer working for all containers.

pim-cp-proxy.log has grown too large, filling up the container up to its default disk space limit of 1GB:

[root@vz ~]# ls -alh /vz/root/1/var/log/pavm/pim-cp-proxy.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 980M Nov 11 01:07 /vz/root/1/var/log/pavm/pim-cp-proxy.log

Cause

A big amount of connections to offline services of the containers can result in the huge pim-cp-proxy.log file with time.

The rotation of this log has been implemented in Parallels Virtual Automation 6.0.

Resolution

Update PVA Agent installation to the most recent version:

# pva-setup --install

If it is needed to apply the solution without installing updates, manually create the file /etc/logrotate.d/pva-pp-proxy with the following content:

[root@vz ~]# cat /etc/logrotate.d/pva-pp-proxy
/var/opt/pva/pp/sve/fs/root/var/log/pavm/pim-cp-proxy.log {
        daily
        copytruncate
        missingok
        size 100
        nocreate
        notifempty
        rotate 6
}
