When a website is opened, it asks for authentication or is redirected to this IIS error message:

HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized
You are not authorized to view this page due to invalid authentication headers.

IIS > Sites > > Authentication > Anonymous Authentication > Specific user is selected.


The password for the built-in IIS user is out of sync with the Windows user.


Use the following utilities to fix the issue:

"%plesk_cli%\repair.exe" --update-websites-anonymous-user (Plesk only)
"%plesk_cli%\repair.exe" --regenerate-web-server-users-password
"%plesk_cli%\repair.exe" --synchronize-impersonation-storage
