How can I add multi-language support to the ProFTP?

By default ProFTPD supports only English language.

Consider using module 'mod_lang' for multi-language support.

  1. Enable ProFTPD module mod_lang. Then add into the file /etc/proftpd.conf or create a new file in /etc/proftpd.d/ with the following content(based on your server locale):

    <IfModule mod_lang.c>
     LangDefault en_US
     LangEngine on
     UseEncoding on
     UseEncoding utf-8 iso8859-1
     LangPath /usr/share/locale

    <IfModule mod_lang.c>
    LangDefault en_US
    LangEngine on
    UseEncoding utf-8 utf-8
    LangPath /usr/share/locale
  2. Afterwards reload files over ftp.
