To register a container or virtual machine, present on the server file system, in the Dispatcher service, responsible for managing VMs, run this command:

# prlctl register /path/to/ve/

Real-life example for VM "test" and container 101:

# prlctl register /var/parallels/test.pvm/
# prlctl register /vz/private/101/

Usually it is needed to preserve the original UUID of the virtual machine:

# prlctl register /var/parallels/test.pvm/ --preserve-uuid

If a virtual environment is registered on another server, it is possible to force the registration:

# prlctl register /var/parallels/tgest.pvm --preserve-uuid --force

To register all virtual machines, present in /var/parallels directory, the following command can be used:

# for vm in /var/parallels/*.pvm ; do prlctl register "$vm/" --preserve-uuid ; done
