  • Applies to:
  • Virtuozzo
  • Virtuozzo containers for Linux
  • Virtuozzo hypervisor

  • Containers sporadically lose network connectivity for a short amount of time (~5-10 minutes) and restore accessibility afterwards.
  • There are several VLANs (e.g. eth0.142, eth0.181, eth0.192) configured on the main network interface.
  • Traffic shaping is enabled on the server.

The default VZ traffic shaping settings imply the usage of eth0 interface, however with VLANs configured, it is necessary to reconfigure it to include the tagged interfaces.

Correct the BANDWIDTH traffic shaping parameter:

  • previously:

    # grep BANDWIDTH /etc/vz/vz.conf
  • after correction:

    # grep BANDWIDTH /etc/vz/vz.conf
    BANDWIDTH="eth0.142:1000000 eth0.181:1000000 eth0.192:1000000"

Restart the traffic shaper afterwards:

# service vz shaperrestart
