The following error occurs trying to use Plesk admin password to create MySQL dump:

mysqldump: Got error: 1045: Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) when trying to connect


Plesk uses encrypted password to connect to the database.


Password is stored in the following file:

# cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow

Use the following command to make a database dump:

# mysqldump -uadmin -p`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` psa > /root/psa.`date +%F`
