  1. Symantec Backup Exec software is installed inside a container to backup data on additional SCSI disks.

  2. Any backup task created in BE fails immediately with "Access Denied" error.

  3. Backup tasks worked fine before the installation of VZU460063.


The issue is recognized as a PVC product bug under internal ID PCWIN-20990.

Symantec Backup Exec fails to process CT's files, when HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\hivelist registry hive is missing.


Create an empty registry hive inside the container:

reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\hivelist"

To do it for all currently running containers in a bunch:

for /f %i in ('vzlist -Ho veid') do reg add "HKLM\vz%i\MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\hivelist"
