PVA MN authentication database fails to list users of the corresponding domain directory:

ERROR: Unable to list all users. Please specify at least one search condition.

Incorrect settings of the authentication database.

Check Parallels Virtual Automation Administrator Guide to learn about registering a new database.

Here are two examples of properly composed Default and Base distinguished names:

  • Domain: intranet.local, default "Users" directory

    Base DN DC=intranet,DC=local
    Default DN CN=users,DC=intranet,DC=local
  • Domain:, "\Accounts\PVA" Organizational Unit

    Base DN DC=hosting,DC=com
    Default DN OU=PVA,OU=Accounts,DC=hosting,DC=com
  • Domain:, "It Department" Organizational Unit in the root of AD

    Base DN DC=hosting,DC=com
    Default DN OU=It Department,DC=hosting,DC=com

OU, CN, DC correspond to LDAP Distinguished Names:

  • CN = Common Name
  • OU = Organizational Unit
  • DC = Domain Component

Additional information

For an already registered authentication database "Default DN" setting cannot be changed without a restart of pvamnd service.

The solution is to delete the old database from PVA and create a new one with the changed Default DN.
