During PVA Agent installation, Power Panel component installation fails.

Running command "C:\Program Files_ _(x86)\Parallels\Parallels_ _Virtual Automation\Power Panel\bin\pp-config.exe" postInstall fails with the following output:

ExecuteCommand completed.
CreateFolder: Creating directory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Virtual Automation\Power Panel\etc'
Wrote joint xml to file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Virtual Automation\Power Panel\etc\classes.xml'
No old config found, merge will not be performed
CreateFolder: Creating directory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Parallels Virtual Automation\Power Panel\etc\licenses'
EnableIISDotNET started
EnableIISDotNET at .\iis_configuration.cpp:443 [ERROR] Failed to find ASP.NET IIS extension.

Also, running aspnet_regiis -i command returns:

The error indicates that IIS is not installed on the machine. Please install IIS before using this tool.


These symptoms indicate that IIS is malfunctioning on a hardware Node. IIS is crucial for Power Panel to function , so it causes installation to fail.


To be able to install Power Panel component it's necessary to fix IIS. Easiest way is to re-install it in a following sequence:

  1. Remove PVA Agent
  2. Remove IIS role from the node
  3. Reboot
  4. Install latest PVA Agent

During PVA Agent installation IIS Role will be automatically installed on a host.
