Backups to an FTP repository fail with the following error in Parallels Plesk Panel (Plesk) Backup Manager:

  1. The FTP user specified in the FTP repository settings is not able to create a file or a folder (see below to find out how to verify this).

  2. There is an extra space in the Directory for backup files storage field. This is considered to be a software issue and has been submitted to the Plesk Service Team as an internal issue with ID PPPM-857.


  1. Make sure that the FTP user (used for uploading backups to the FTP repository) is able to create files/folders.

  2. Remove the extra space in the Backup Manager > Personal FTP Repository Settings > Directory for backup files storage field.
