A server misbehaves after a fresh installation of Parallels Virtuozzo Containers via autoinstaller.

The possible failures are:

* kernel panic on mounting root partition
* fsck error detecting a block device
* network card is not detected

Latest CentOS kernel can be booted successfully on the same server.


PVC autoinstaller comes with the initial kernel version, which was available upon release, so it may lack support for modern devices.


  1. Using vzup2date tool.

    Install the most recent kernel right after PVC 4.7 installation and before rebooting the server:

    ~# vzup2date -m batch install --self-update --core --loader-autoconfig

    Once the node is rebooted, update the system further:

    ~# vzup2date -m batch install --tools
  2. Manual update.

    Also, it can always be found on vzup2date server.
