In PVA, pressing 'Migrate Server to Container' button in the hardware node dashboard to perform physical-to-container migration leads to an 'Application Error' screen.

At the same time, the following errors are recorded in /var/log/pva/cc/<date>-cpcon.log on PVA MN server:

28/05/2014 12:46:13.6833100 [780] : void xslElemDie(xsltTransformContext*, xmlNode*, xmlNode*, xsltElemPreComp*) at xslext/xslutils.cpp:231 : sw:die : message:

The source server doesn't have enough memory parameters, represented in /proc/meminfo file. This is true for OpenVZ containers, in particular.

PVA expects the following parameters to be available: "MemTotal:", "MemFree:", "SwapTotal:", "SwapFree:", "Cached:".

In case something is missing in /proc/meminfo, it is possible to emulate it with the necessary details. Real-life example:

[root@src ~]# cat /proc/meminfo
MemTotal: 1048576 kB
MemFree: 937084 kB
SwapTotal: 0 kB
SwapFree: 0 kB

Run the following commands:

# cat /proc/meminfo >> /root/meminfo
# echo "Cached: 0 kB" >> /root/meminfo
# mount --bind /root/meminfo /proc/meminfo

[root@src ~]# cat /proc/meminfo
MemTotal: 1048576 kB
MemFree: 936268 kB
SwapTotal: 0 kB
SwapFree: 0 kB
Cached: 0 kB

Now start the migration and roll-back the changes, when it completes:

# umount /proc/meminfo
