Login to FTP fails with error:

Wrong passphrase for this key. Please try again.

Upon trying to FTP from localhost, I got the following error:

    [root@test]# ftp localhost
    Connected to localhost (

    Name (localhost:root): username
Wrong passphrase for this key. Please try again.
    Login failed.

Default certificate installed is corrupted. The certificate and its key-pair installed are not working or corrupted.

Recreate certificate and private key via Plesk: Tools & Utilities -> SSL Certificates -> Add SSL Certificate. A new self-signed SSL certificate will be created in the server certificate repository.

After that assign new certificate in Plesk COntrol panel: via page Server -> IP Addresses -> "choose IP" by selecting the needed Certificate in the "SSL Certificate" drop-down menu.

As workaround, while SSL certificate does not work, fix the issue by commenting the lines with TLS certificate in the proftpd configuration file /etc/proftpd.conf.
