How to reinstall ModSecurity package from the Plesk repository?

For RedHat-based operating systems:

  1. Get the list of installed ModSecurity packages:

    # rpm --query --all | grep security
  2. Remove the existing packages. For example:

    # rpm --erase mod_security-2.8.0-14080716.x86_64 plesk-modsecurity-configurator-12.0.18-cos7.build1200140811.16.noarch plesk-modsecurity-crs-12.0.18-14070712.x86_64

Go to step 3 below.

For Debian-based operating systems:

  1. Get the list of installed ModSecurity packages:

    # dpkg --list *modsecurity*
  2. Remove the existing packages:

    # dpkg --remove libapache2-modsecurity plesk-modsecurity-configurator plesk-modsecurity-crs
  3. Launch the Plesk autoinstaller via CLI or the GUI, then install the ModSecurity component again. The component is located under the Web hosting features section.

  4. Save the default settings at Tools & Settings > Web Application Firewall (ModSecurity) in order to configure the module.
