    Actual result that you got : Restore the VM {94b8e24a-3cb3-4136-80bf-a4919596194e}
    restore hdd.0 progress: 100%
    Failed to restore the VM: Unable to register the virtual machine "myvm" (PRL_ERR_ACCESS_TO_VM_DENIED). Please try again. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator for assistance.

  • The restoration is performed from under unprivileged user, not root.

Cause

The restoration fails because of the "/" at the end on the destination pvm path.

The problem is recognized as product bug #PSBM-28375

Resolution

The permanent fix will be included in one of the future product updates.

As a workaround, do not put "/" in the path to pvm, e.g:

  • will work:

    # prlctl restore {94b8e24a-3cb3-4136-80bf-a4919596194e} --tag '{920cc671-8c7f-4dae-b012-212aaa4704ff}' --dst '/restored/VM1/myvm.pvm'

  • will not work:

    # prlctl restore {94b8e24a-3cb3-4136-80bf-a4919596194e} --tag '{920cc671-8c7f-4dae-b012-212aaa4704ff}' --dst '/restored/VM1/myvm.pvm/'
