I have an Ubuntu server. After each reboot, Plesk is unavailable ("bad gateway"), until sw-engine is restarted manually. Log says:

2014/09/29 15:46:13 [crit] 3549#0: *1 connect() to unix:/var/run/sw-engine.sock failed (2: No such file or directory) while connecting to upstream

Misconfigured startup links

  1. Remove unnecessary mysql init script from /etc/init.d, as it use Debian upstart

    # update-rc.d -f mysql remove
  2. re-configure sw-engine startup script

    # update-rc.d -f sw-engine remove
    # update-rc.d sw-engine defaults
