- Unable to change hosting type of the main domain of subscription.
- The option
Changeis not available under hosting settings of the subscription.
- After changing Hosting Type from
Forwardthe whole domain webspace was deleted
In general it is not allowed to change hosting type of the main domain of a subscription in case there are additional domains or subdomains within the subscription.
For test purposes you can run the command below:
# /usr/local/psa/bin/domain -u domain.tld -hst_type std -target_url target_domain.tld -ip 10.10.10.10 Webspace contains sites, therefore, you cannot change hosting type or delete it.
There are 2 possible workarounds:
1.put an .htaccess file into
example.com and make redirection.
Create .htaccess file.
Edit the contents of the file making the redirection (e.g. to example2.com) manually:
# This allows you to redirect your entire website to any other domain Redirect 301 / http://example2.com/ # This allows you to redirect your entire website to any other domain Redirect 302 / http://example2.com/ # This allows you to redirect index.html to a specific subfolder Redirect /index.html http://example2.com/newdirectory/ # Redirect old file path to new file path Redirect /olddirectory/oldfile.html http://example2.com/newdirectory/newfile.html
example.com into some arbitrary name and re-create new
example.com as subdomain on the same document root. You will need to re-create mailboxes in new
example.com and move mail into each new mailbox.
example.com can be configured as redirect without damaging webspace.
