Plesk Outgoing Mail Control does not block mail messages according to limits: it is possible to send more emails than is defined in Outgoing Mail Control limit
MailServer may be blacklisted because of spammers
Incorrect permissions and ownership for
/dev/log socket file:
# ls -la /dev/log srw-rw---- 1 root mysyslog 0 Jun 15 00:43 /dev/log
Change the permissions and the ownership:
# chmod 666 /dev/log # chown root:root /dev/log # ls -la /dev/log srw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Jun 15 00:43 /dev/log
If permissions are changed back to incorrect ones, there are some 3rd-party firewall tools are installed on a server.
For example, lfd (Login Failure Daemon) that works with csf (ConfigServer Firewall) can cause such behavior. There is parameter 'RESTRICT_SYSLOG' identified in the csf configuration file
/etc/csf/csf.conf that is causing the issue:
RESTRICT_SYSLOG = "3"
To fix the issue in this case, either stop lfd service, or configure csf so that syslogd files are ignored. Then, change permissions to correct ones:
# service lfd stop # chmod 666 /dev/log # chown root:root /dev/log # ls -la /dev/log srw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Jun 15 00:43 /dev/log
